Cookie policy

Last updated: June 16, 2026

The short version

SeniorsLink uses a small number of strictly-necessary cookies and browser-storage entries to keep you signed in and to remember what you were doing. We do not use third-party advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or cross-site identifiers. The tablet does not store any analytics data about the resident.

What we set, and why

Supabase auth session

Strictly necessary

HTTP cookie (HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax)

Keeps you signed in to the family portal. Expires when you sign out or after 7 days of inactivity. Set by our authentication provider (Supabase).

memorylane:* (localStorage)

Strictly necessary

Browser localStorage

Remembers which loved-one you're currently viewing, your unlocked-PIN state for this tab, and any draft form data you haven't saved yet. Cleared when you clear browser storage.

memorylane:family-unlocked (sessionStorage)

Strictly necessary

Browser sessionStorage

Tracks whether you've successfully entered the family PIN this tab. Cleared when you close the tab.

Analytics events (first-party only)

First-party only

Server-side (not a cookie)

Family-side actions (button clicks, save events) are sent to our own database under your signed-in account. Never tablet-side. You can export or delete every analytics event about you on the Privacy & data control page.

What we don't do

  • No Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Segment, Heap, FullStory, Hotjar, or similar product-analytics SDKs.
  • No advertising cookies. No Facebook Pixel, Google Ads, TikTok Pixel, or LinkedIn Insight.
  • No cross-site tracking identifiers. We don't share session IDs with anyone.
  • No fingerprinting. We don't collect canvas, font, or audio-context signatures.
  • No analytics on the tablet. The resident's interactions are not logged anywhere.

How to opt out

Because all the cookies and storage entries above are strictly necessary for the app to function (you literally can't stay signed in without them), there's no opt-out toggle. If you want to remove them entirely, clear cookies and site data for memorylane.app in your browser's settings. The family-side analytics, which isn't a cookie at all, can be deleted any time from the Privacy & data control page.

A note for facilities

Care homes deploying SeniorsLink to residents should treat this page as the baseline. Your facility may have its own cookie / privacy notice — we're happy to align with it, and we won't introduce third-party tracking without written consent from your compliance officer.
